Our membership is diverse, as is the list of projects Rotary of Manassas support. Our projects run throughout the year and support a variety of initiatives and programs.

We Improve Communities

Neighborhood Improvement Project

At least twice a year, Manassas Rotary and Osbourn Park H.S. Interact volunteers perform a clean-up of Mathis Ave.

Disaster support

This past year, Manassas Rotary donated monies to hurricane disaster relief for states along the Gulf of Mexico. This year Manassas Rotary is partnering with other Rotary Clubs in Northern Virginia in making a grant towards a school library and science classroom in Chantal, Haiti, where there has been no electricity since Hurricane Matthew in 2016.

Interact

Interact is a club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with their community through volunteerism and Manassas Rotary currently sponsors the Osbourn Park H.S. Interact Club. Besides partnering with Manassas Rotary in doing the Mathis Ave. clean-ups, Interact volunteers have participated in putting on the Birmingham Green Adult Care Residence holiday parties , staffing the Manassas City Santa arrival hot-dog stand, doing Salvation Army bell-ringing, and participating in the Manassas City Christmas Parade.

We Encourage Education

Vocational/Technical scholarships

This past year Manassas Rotary awarded 5 vocational and 4 academic scholarships to worthy recipients who attended Osbourn, Osbourn Park, Manassas Park, and Stonewall Jackson High Schools.

We Support Wellness

Children’s Wellness Fair

Geared toward children in need, sages 7 to 17, this fair brings the community together and offers free health screenings and information on nutrition, after-school activities and overall wellness. This event is co-sponsored by the Manassas, Gainesville/Haymarket and Bull Run Rotary Clubs.

Medical Missionaries

The Manassas Rotary Club is proud of its ongoing support for this unique group, which is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing health care, medical support, medical education and training to the poor of the world. Medical Missionaries was originally started by a group of doctors and nurses from Manassas, Virginia who wanted to reach out and help those in need. Medical Missionaries has no paid employees and evolved from a volunteer effort to supply medicine, medical aid, clothing and educational materials to the less fortunate.

We Engage in Our Community

Manassas Fall Jubilee

Manassas Rotary has a display table at Fall Jubilee, at which it spreads the word about Rotary by talking to attendees and passing out information. There is also face-painting, which delights children and adults of all ages.

Manassas Christmas Parade

The Rotary Club of Manassas has a wonderful time participating in the annual Greater Manassas Christmas Parade. We love creating and riding on our floats, and send a big thank you to all the members and volunteers involved in creating it.

Major Fundraisers

Major Fundraisers

In January Manassas Rotary holds a “Super Bowl Tail-Gate” Reverse Raffle Party and in September holds the Lou Maroon Memorial Golf Tournament and the Wines, Steins and Spirits tasting. The latter is held in partnership with Historic Manassas, Inc. Because of these fundraisers, this past year Manassas Rotary was able to contribute over $80,000 to worthy recipients at the local, domestic, and international levels.
